Pinterest is awash with beautiful laundry room makeovers. And why not? We spend a lot of time in our laundry rooms, doing an average of 8-10 loads of laundry each week and it’s great to enjoy that time in a beautiful space. But as you DIY the laundry room of your dreams, don’t forget safety.
A8. These may look great but are not safe. Always store products in the original containers, up and out of reach (and sight) of children! #StoreNotDecor #PacketsUp pic.twitter.com/VI5jpG8WSX

In these pictures, they’ve all put style over safety! Those glass containers may make detergents and other laundry products look nice, but they are way too accessible to children and anyone elderly with Alzheimer’s or dementia. When it comes to laundry detergent, think #StoreNotDecor.
Put decorative things in the decorative jars but keep your laundry detergents, liquid laundry packets and other laundry products in their original containers. Those containers have important safety information, including numbers to call in case of emergency. Many also have child resistant packaging to make sure the products stay out of little hands. Keep those products up and out of sight.
