Happy Earth Day! Today is a great time to celebrate the steps we’re taking to ensure #OurFutureIsClean. The cleaning products industry is working on a number of fronts and cleaning products are more sustainable than ever before. Check out just a few of the innovations:
Sheets and Swatches
One easy way to make packaging and shipping more sustainable is to reduce how much water is in cleaning products. After all, we can just use the water coming out of the tap. There are lots of concentrated products out there to choose from and some, like sheets and swatches, go so far as to remove all the water, into a sheet or swatch.
Subscriptions and Refills
Last year, one thing that became clear was the need for regular access to cleaning products. With a subscription, you can schedule that cadence to get what you need when you need it. Cleaning product creators have worked to make these subscription deliveries more streamlined, using less packaging for shipping. And by ordering refills for the products you already have, you can cut down on packaging even further.
Sustainable as the Baseline
As cleaning product companies work to find more sustainable ingredients and packaging options, it often isn’t just for their “green” lines. Cleaning products need to work. They also need to use natural resources responsibly if they’re going to be part of a vibrant future. If an ingredient can do both, it doesn’t just have to be the sustainable alternative. Everyone benefits, even Mother Earth.
