This National Public Health Week, we’re talking about cleaning practices for better health.
When a loved one is sick, you want to care for them. Maybe you bring them soup or medicine. Maybe you set them up with a comfortable place to lay down in view of a television. But do you change your cleaning routine as part of that care? It can help keep you and the rest of the household from also getting sick and can be especially helpful when there is someone who is elderly or has a weakened immune system in the home.
How should your cleaning routine change? According to the CDC, it can be helpful to set up a sick room and ramp up the cleaning and disinfecting of things frequently touched by members of the household.
You may also want to adjust how you’re doing the laundry. We created three Levels of Laundry to help you choose the level that best fits your situation.
Visit our Laundry Practices for Better Health landing page for more details on each level and when you may want to do things like increase the water temperature or add a laundry sanitizer or bleach when doing the laundry.
